While other artists have ridden the waves of passing fads, Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings bypass the hype-and-hit superhighway and take a detour straight to the hearts of their listeners, delivering a visceral rhythm and soul sound to an ever-expanding fan base. The band has traveled the world for more than a decade, blowing minds with their explosive live performances and their raw, hand-crafted studio recordings.

 

From their first album, Dap-Dippin' with Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, to their recent collection of holiday standards and originals, It's a Holiday Soul Party!, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings have defined the sound of modern soul. In 2014, the band was nominated for a Grammy for their album Give The People What They Want and 2016 saw the theatrical release and critical success of Miss Sharon Jones!, a documentary about Sharon's battle with pancreatic cancer that inspired moviegoers worldwide.

 

Sadly, the band's powerhouse singer, Sharon Jones, passed away in November 2016.
